Every screenplay has to have an audience. Its writer has to have in mind some group of people to whom the screenplay is supposed to appeal. For the purposes of sfsg, the size of the audience doesn't matter — just that you know who is in it and what it is they need. If you have written a good script that would move a crowd of left-handed Armenian bank-examiners to tears, that's great, even if it leaves the rest of us cold.
