There are two meanings to "criticism":

the art of evaluating or analyzing works of art or literature

In that sense, criticism is welcome at the sfsg — it's central to our purpose. The other is

find fault with

The rule at sfsg is "you cannot beat something with nothing". While it is sometime necessary to say, "this dialog [or premise or character] is terrible", it is infinitely preferable to say "this dialog [or premise or character] is terrible compared to this alternative" and specify the alternative.
