A treatment, for our purposes, is a scene-by-scene plan for a screenplay. Each step of the plan should summarize one scene, including the location, the dialog, the action, and the characters that appear. It should be a brief as possible while still fully explaining the proposed story.

Treatment are evaluated but not for their own literary merit but for how likely it is that a good screenplay could be developed from it.
